Sheriff of state’s largest county is latest law enforcement official to back Biggs, a former prosecutor and leader on child safety legislation
GILBERT, AZ—Maricopa County Sheriff Jerry Sheridan endorsed Andy Biggs for Governor, the latest law enforcement official to offer their support to the frontrunner for the GOP gubernatorial nomination. With just over three weeks until Primary Election Day, Biggs is continuing to pick up support from leaders across the Republican Party. Sheridan is the 4th countywide elected official from Arizona’s most populous county to endorse Biggs, a former prosecutor for the City of Phoenix and former State Senate President.
“Andy Biggs has spent his career fighting to keep Arizona families safe and our communities secure,” said Sheridan. “As President of the Arizona Senate, he championed policies that strengthened law enforcement and gave us the tools we need to combat crime and protect our neighborhoods. Sheriff Sheridan joins Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell, Pinal County Attorney Brad Miller, the Arizona Law Enforcement Association, and the Arizona Council of Prisons Locals as law enforcement leaders backing Biggs, who started his professional career as a prosecutor for the City of Phoenix.
