Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell Endorses Andy Biggs for Governor

June 22, 2026
Press Release

Well-respected prosecutor from state’s largest county is latest law enforcement official to endorse Biggs

GILBERT, AZ—Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell endorsed Congressman Andy Biggs in his campaign for Governor of Arizona, the latest law enforcement official or organization to back the frontrunner for the GOP nomination. Mitchell, who represents the largest county in Arizona and has been one of the best performing candidates in Maricopa County over the past two cycles, chose Biggs on his ability to lead at the State Capitol and work with prosecutors to hold criminals accountable in Arizona.

As Maricopa County Attorney, I see firsthand the challenges facing our communities,” said Mitchell. “From the impacts of illegal immigration and transnational crime to the growing threats posed by fentanyl and organized criminal activity, Arizona needs a governor who understands these issues and is prepared to take decisive action. Andy Biggs is a proven conservative leader who has spent his career fighting for limited government, fiscal responsibility, and individual liberty. Whether serving in the Arizona Legislature, where he led as Senate President, or in Congress representing Arizona, Andy has shown commitment to the values that have made our state strong. Andy is willing to listen, engage, and lead with conviction. His vision for Arizona is one rooted in opportunity, accountability, and public safety. Arizona stands at an important crossroads. The decisions we make today will shape the future our children inherit tomorrow. I am confident Andy Biggs has the experience, leadership, and determination necessary to meet this moment and keep Arizona moving in the right direction. That is why I am proud to endorse Andy Biggs for Governor of Arizona and encourage Arizonans to join me in supporting his campaign.”

Rachel Mitchell joins Pinal County Attorney Brad Miller, the Arizona Law Enforcement Association, and the Arizona Council of Prisons Locals as law enforcement leaders backing Biggs, who started his professional career as a prosecutor for the City of Phoenix.

Rachel Mitchell has been a fierce protector of our community, taking the fight to drug dealers and criminals who must be held accountable for their evil actions,” said Biggs. Rachel has done great work at the local level, but it’s clear she’s not getting the support she needs from Katie Hobbs. As a former prosecutor, I know how important it is to have elected officials at every level of government that are committed to stopping crime. I’ll be a Governor that works with County Attorneys like Rachel Mitchell to get them the tools they need to keep our communities safe.”
