Biggs advances to the General Election to face Katie Hobbs, the only Governor in America currently under criminal investigation
GILBERT, AZ—Andy Biggs, the former State Senate President who currently represents Arizona’s 5th Congressional District, won the Arizona Republican gubernatorial nomination last night with a historic margin of victory as votes continue to be counted. Biggs is currently at 73.4%, which is the largest number for an Arizona Republican non-incumbent gubernatorial candidate in a competitive primary in the state’s history.
Before taking questions from reporters gathered in Scottsdale, Biggs delivered remarks to his supporters which can be seen HERE via ABC15 in Arizona and emphasized the need for Republican voters across the statement to unite.
Biggs also released the following statement after the race was called:
“I am deeply honored to be chosen by Arizona Republicans as their nominee to defeat Katie Hobbs in November. This campaign has been driven by our grassroots supporters from the day we launched in January 2025 with a clear mission of Restoring the American Dream in our great state. Tonight’s results show that Arizonans overwhelmingly believe in our vision and I’m grateful to have earned their support. Our goal has always been to unite the Republican Party and we’ve done that as much as any nominee in recent memory.
As we advance to the General Election, I want to make sure every Arizonan knows this: no matter what your political party is or your background, you deserve a better leader than Katie Hobbs. I’m going to work day and night to earn your vote, finding the areas of agreement we have and making sure you know I’ll be a Governor for you and your family and your community.
