GILBERT, AZ—The Biggs/Kerr for Arizona campaign today released their Policy Platform for Arizona voters to see exactly how they’ll work to improve the lives of Arizonans from Day One of their administration.
“Sine Kerr and I have traveled all over this state, meeting Arizonans, listening to their concerns, understanding how the last four years have left them worse off than they were in 2022, and we have shared our vision for the future,” said Andy Biggs, the Republican nominee for Governor of Arizona. “We are ready to get to work on Day 1 – but for us, Day 1 starts the day after getting elected. We will work with House and Senate leadership to make the state budget a priority, and to develop a strategy to pass and sign into law the good policy that Governor Hobbs vetoed, including bills on election integrity, protecting children from sex offenders, protecting state land against foreign interests, and increasing government transparency. Make Arizona Affordable Again
- Make Arizona more competitive with other states and more affordable for Arizonans by eliminating the state income tax and working with local entities to reduce the property tax burden.
- Reduce costs of new-home construction by streamlining state-level bureaucracy and working with local governments to lower permitting barriers.
- Revitalize home construction in Arizona’s fastest growing communities by ending Katie Hobbs’s anti-homebuilding policies.
- Bring down energy costs for Arizona businesses and families by pursuing reliable, affordable energy sources, including nuclear energy.
- Lower fuel prices by reducing our dependency on California and increase the fuel supplied to Arizona from other sources.
- Stop Wall Street from buying up homes and driving up housing costs.
- Attract new businesses to Arizona by creating a favorable tax structure and promoting workforce development.
- Repeal job-killing regulations and bureaucratic red tape that harm job creation.
- End state incentives for data centers and establish standards that will protect Arizona water and energy.
Make Government Accountable to Arizonans
- Rid waste, fraud, and abuse from state government by reviewing each agency and program, and identifying better and more efficient practices.
- Quickly get to work on inauguration day, rather than soliciting financial contributions into an inauguration fund and celebrating our own political victory.
- Increase transparency among companies that bid on state contracts or request raises by requiring they disclose contributions made to political candidates or entities, which was vetoed by Katie Hobbs.
- Reduce corrupt use of the State Protocol Fund by instituting a 48-hour notice to the legislature and the public before funds are used, and disclosing contributions within 72 hours.
- Ban foreign contributions to campaigns and ballot initiatives.
- Limit out-of-state influence on local matters by instituting state requirements on paid and out-of-state signature collectors, an effort vetoed by Katie Hobbs.
- Bring funding transparency to the Governor’s office by disclosing to the legislature what federal funds are received by the state.
Make Arizona Safe Again
- Lower Arizona’s overdose death rate, one of the only states in the nation seeing an increase last year, by equipping our state and local law enforcement with the resources and support they need to fully combat drug trafficking.
- Convene local, county, state and federal leaders to reintroduce a Border Strike Force that prioritizes anti-human trafficking and anti-drug trafficking efforts.
- Focus on recruitment, training, and retention of our law enforcement and corrections officers, including creation of a board to review benefits and retirement packages.
- Keep Arizona highways safe by fully resourcing and empowering Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers.
- Protect students in schools by fully funding school security programs.
- Encourage state and local participation in the federal 287g program, ensuring our law enforcement officers are trained and prepared to assist with federal efforts.
Put Arizona’s Natural Resources to Work
- Convene the water experts in our state to develop a long-term water strategy. We will fight for every drop of our allocated Colorado River water and build on the good work of our state legislature and WIFA to augment water, find new water partners, increase water conservation, and streamline Arizona’s water bureaucracy.
- Accurately measure and report on the state’s aquifers, guaranteeing we have a clear projection of Arizona’s water supply.
- Foster collaboration between the state and federal government to responsibly manage our forests, reviving watersheds and protecting life and property against wildfires.
- Promote responsible mining in the state, utilizing our abundant resources to reduce our reliance on foreign adversaries and boost our own economy.
- Increase Arizona’s supply of reliable energy and encourage nuclear development.
- Ensure all of Arizona’s stakeholders have a seat at the table in policy decisions.
- Repeal Katie Hobbs’ executive order prioritizing wind and solar energy on state land.
Protect Education Freedom
- Opt into the federal education tax credit.
- Protect Empowerment Scholarship Accounts so families can choose the educational method that best meets the needs of their child.
- Increase education funding by leveraging Arizona’s constitutionally-provided assets.
- Prioritize reading, writing, and math in the K-12 curriculum.
- Emphasize educational attainment, rather than DEI or CRT.
- Recognize the value of and promote trade skills and certificated training.
- Encourage better coordination between trade schools, community colleges, universities, and the private sector.
Protect Health Freedom and Encourage Healthy Living in Arizona
- Empower Arizonans by ending medical mandates and ensuring vaccine freedom.
- Embolden parents to choose the vaccines right for their child by requiring schools to provide information about immunization exemptions.
- Give college students medical freedom by prohibiting public colleges and universities from requiring vaccines as a condition for enrollment.
- Make ivermectin available over-the-counter.
- Reinforce healthy habits by limiting purchases of soda and junk foods with SNAP benefits.
- Provide food freedom by allowing restaurants and coffee shops to sell and serve raw milk produced by AZDA dairies.
