Hobbs once supported doubling Arizona’s gas tax, now confusing voters with excuses and mixed messages on budget
GILBERT, AZ—The Biggs for Arizona campaign released the following statement after Katie Hobbs’ weak and confusing interview this morning on Arizona’s Family 3TV & CBS 5:
“Katie Hobbs is full of weak excuses when it comes to rising gas prices in Arizona, trying desperately to make voters forget she supported a plan to double the state’s gas tax and delayed taking substantive action as Governor,” said Drew Sexton, Senior Advisor to the Biggs for Arizona campaign. “Her new claim of wanting to address gas prices for Arizonans during budget talks with State Republicans is laughable as she just threw a tantrum last week and walked away from the negotiating table. She’s failing to lead once again and confusing Arizonans who still don’t know when to file taxes and can’t afford rising gas and utility costs. Arizonans cannot afford four more years of the weak and ineffective Katie Hobbs.”
