Buckeye dairy farmer of over 40 years and former Senate Majority Whip brings legislative experience and rural perspective to ticket
GILBERT, AZ—Republican nominee for Governor Andy Biggs has selected Sine Kerr, a Buckeye dairy farmer and former Arizona Senate Majority Whip, as the Republican nominee to be Arizona’s first Lieutenant Governor.
The daughter of an Army combat veteran and a naturalized U.S. citizen from Mexico, Kerr touts an impressive legislative background and brings a vast knowledge of rural Arizona’s agriculture industry to the Republican ticket.
“I am thrilled to have Sine Kerr as my running mate and Arizona’s first nominee to be Lieutenant Governor,” said Biggs. “Sine knows Arizona’s agriculture community as well as anyone and has the respect of farmers, ranchers, and policy makers from around the state. She’s worked across the aisle to get things done at the Legislature, from spearheading the successful passage of the 2022 ‘water protection’ bill to her sponsorship of ‘Kayleigh’s Law’, a landmark piece of legislation that protects victims of sex crimes from being harassed or contacted by their abuser. Sine, her wonderful husband Bill, and her four children and twelve grandchildren are the embodiment of Arizona values and they have lived the American Dream in the West Valley. She will be a great running mate and a fantastic Lieutenant Governor for every Arizonan.”

BACKGROUND ON LT. GOV. NOMINEE SINE KERR
-Sine Kerr (pronounced: SEEN-uh) has been married to her high school sweetheart, Bill, for 46 years. Together, they have four children and twelve grandchildren, all of whom reside in the West Valley.
-From 2018-2025, Kerr served as the Arizona State Senator for Legislative Districts 13 and 25 (post-redistricting). Her districts included most of the West Valley and stretched all the way out to Yuma County, representing large agricultural areas and three major military installations.
-Kerr was elected by her Republican colleagues to serve as Senate Majority Whip and also served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources, Energy, and Water.
-In 2021, Senator Kerr was the author of SB1442, the legislative vehicle for Governor Doug Ducey’s Arizona Healthy Forest Initiative.
-Kerr worked across the aisle in the Arizona Legislature to get a number of bills signed into law, including ‘Kayleigh’s Law’ in 2021 and the landmark ‘water protection’ bill in 2022.
-In 2024, Kerr was the prime sponsor of the Arizona Women’s Bill of Rights, which protected women from biological men in locker rooms, bathrooms, and sports by changing state law to include only male or female as sexes. The bill was vetoed by Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs.
-Kerr was inducted into the Arizona Outdoor Hall of Fame in October 2025 and has been recognized for her strong legislative work by a number of organizations, including the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce and the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
-Sine is a graduate of Buckeye Union High School in Buckeye, AZ. She moved to Buckeye with her family when she was three years old and has stayed in the community ever since.
-After graduating from high school, Sine and Bill (a third-generation farmer) got married a year later. They started their own dairy herd with 15 dairy cows in Buckeye. They grew and built their family-owned farm over four decades and now operate a small cow-calf operation and grow forage crops.
-She most recently served as the U.S Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency (FSA) State Executive Director for Arizona.
