Conservative leader becomes first GOP governor to endorse Biggs in gubernatorial campaign
GILBERT, AZ—Texas Governor Greg Abbott endorsed Congressman Andy Biggs for Governor of Arizona today, giving Biggs his first endorsement from a sitting governor as polls show Republicans are uniting behind his campaign. Governor Abbott, a three-term governor of Texas and former Chairman of the Republican Governors Association, highlighted Biggs’ experience and credibility as a conservative fighter who will bring prosperity back to Arizona.
“Andy Biggs has the vision, experience, and the strength Arizona needs at this critical moment,” said Governor Abbott. “As a member of Congress and former Arizona Senate President, he helped forge an economy that was among the strongest in the nation. As Governor, Andy Biggs will reverse the decline in job growth, restore commonsense leadership, and fight to make Arizona strong, secure, and affordable again. He has the courage to stand up to the radical Democrat policies that drag the state down and lead Arizona into the prosperous future it deserves.”
“Governor Greg Abbott has been a shining example for conservative leadership at the state level, working to secure his state’s border when the Biden Administration failed and standing up for the rights and freedoms of Texans,” said Congressman Biggs. “He knows what it takes to boldly lead a state, getting things done without wavering on his conservative principles. I’m deeply honored to have his support and I look forward to working with him as Governor of Arizona to keep our southern border secure and ensure prosperity and freedom for the citizens of our great states.”
