Biggs picks up support and momentum after last week’s public safety forum
GILBERT, AZ—Two major Arizona law enforcement groups have endorsed Andy Biggs for Governor in the past week, giving the Biggs for Arizona campaign momentum after last week’s public safety forum featuring Biggs and his opponent Katie Hobbs.
The Arizona Fraternal Order of Police (AZFOP), which represents over 9,400 members across the state, endorsed Biggs in a letter stating, “Your endorsement by the F.O.P., one of Arizona’s largest police organizations, is based on your demonstrated support of significant public safety issues and reflects our belief that you best understand the difficult job faced by members of the law enforcement community.”
The Arizona Conference of Police and Sheriffs (AZCOPS), which represents more than 4,500 members statewide and whose Legislative Committee reviews candidates’s records of accomplishments and legislative history, also endorsed Biggs. Their letter stated, “Your unwavering support for law enforcement and public safety is appreciated by our members and the communities they serve.”
“Arizona desperately needs a Governor who will work with law enforcement leaders to get them the tools they need to keep us safe and stop the alarming spike in fentanyl deaths across our state,” said Biggs. “The public safety community is continuing to support our campaign because they’ve seen my record and they know I’ll take aggressive action to help them keep Arizona communities safe.”
Biggs now has endorsements from AZFOP, AZCOPS, the Arizona Law Enforcement Association, three Prisons Local Unions across Arizona, and law enforcement leaders like Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell, Maricopa County Sheriff Jerry Sheridan, Pinal County Sheriff Ross Teeple, and Pinal County Attorney Brad Miller.
